NFL Week Four Picks ATS

San Francisco -4 over NY Jets- The 49ers offense will have a much easier time without Darrelle Revis and their defense shouldn’t have much trouble with a Jets offense that hasn’t really been able to get out of its own way of late.

New England -3.5 over Buffalo- This could be a close game, depending on which Bills running backs play. Buffalo paid a lot of money to upgrade its pass rush, and Mario Williams and former Pat Mark Anderson have to shine or New England will run away with this one.

Minnesota +4.5 over Detroit- The Lions must stop Adrian Peterson or they won’t know what to expect on defense because Christian Ponder and the passing offense has been strong of late and Detroit can’t stop the pass. Look for the upset here.

Atlanta -7 over Carolina- After the Panthers’ inability to stop Eli Manning and the short-handed Giants offense, it’s hard to say how they can curtail Matt Ryan and company at full strength. Cam Newton needs to make better decisions and Carolina has to control the clock with the run.

San Diego -1 over Kansas City- This game can really go either way, but Ryan Matthews should be motivated this week after Chargers GM AJ Smith threatened him with a benching. Jamaal Charles is the hottest back in the league and the crowd will be rocking at Arrowhead, but I’ll go with the Bolts.

Houston -12 over Tennessee- Chris Johnson has to get back on track against the tough Texans defense or this will indeed be a blowout.

St. Louis +3 over Seattle- Marshawn Lynch is the key for the Seahawks, because Russell Wilson will have a tough time throwing on this Rams defense. Expect a low-scoring game at home won by Sam Bradford, Danny Amendola and St. Louis.

Arizona -5.5 over Miami- The Cardinals defense has been tremendous so far this season, but the Dolphins can stop the run. The problem is that Miami is awful against the pass and Larry Fitzgerald should go off.

Denver -7 over Oakland- The home field advantage in a rivalry game and a sense of urgency for Peyton Manning and the 1-2 Broncos should be enough to defeat the Raiders.

Cincinnati -2.5 over Jacksonville- The Bengals are 31st against the run, so there is hope for Maurice Jones-Drew and the Jags, but AJ Green and the Bengals defense should be able to pull out the road win.

Green Bay -7.5 over New Orleans- The Saints offense has looked tentative and needs to avoid 0-4, but that defense and Aaron Rodgers won’t lose at home after what happened to them on Monday night in Seattle. Bad circumstances for New Orleans.

Tampa Bay -2.5 over Washington- The Bucs’ defense did quite well against Dallas last week and should be able to stop the run. Tampa Bay will employ the Freeman to Jackson combo against the Redskins porous pass defense and get a huge win.

NY Giants +2 over Philadelphia- Have you seen Michael Vick and the Eagles offensive line lately? The New York pass rush should have an easy time getting to the QB and the Giants should win this game fairly comfortably on the road.
