NFL Week Two Picks Against The Spread

After a 6-10 first week, the Green Bay win over Chicago ensured a good start to the second week of the week. It’s about redemption now, folks.

NY Giants -7 over Tampa Bay- Carolina refused to run the ball last week against the Bucs, but the Giants should be able to gain good yardage on the ground and the defense should be able to limit the Tampa Bay offense and take care of the football.

New England -13.5 over Arizona- The Cardinals are going to be facing a better QB than Russell Wilson this week, and the New England front seven showed a lot of promise against Tennessee last week.

Indianapolis +1.5 over Minnesota- Andrew Luck should have an easier time this week and if the Colts can contain Adrian Peterson and hold on to the football, they’ll get their first win in the Luck era.

New Orleans -2.5 over Carolina- The Saints have to be able to stop the run this week and get back to what they do best on offense. Drew Brees is too good to have a game like he did last week and New Orleans should get back on track this week.

Kansas City +3 over Buffalo- The Chiefs will get Tamba Hali back from suspension and he will force Ryan Fitzpatrick into more mistakes. KC needs to contain running back C.J. Spiller but will win on the road if they can do that.

Baltimore +2.5 over Philadelphia- The Eagles have quality corners, but I don’t know if they can stop this Ravens no-huddle attack. For Philly to even have a chance, they have to protect Michael Vick. I don’t think they’ll be able to.

Oakland -2.5 over Miami- As long as they can snap the ball and cause confusion for Ryan Tannehill, the Raiders can run the ball all day with Darren McFadden. Reggie Bush will need to carry this Dolphins team for them to win any game this season.

Cincinnati -7 over Cleveland- The Bengals will basically be able to do what it wants against Brandon Weeden and the Andy Dalton-A.J. Green connection will be back in business.

Houston -7 over Jacksonville- As long as the Texans hold Maurice Jones-Drew under 125 yards, the Houston pressure and its explosive offense should be enough to tame the Jaguars.

Pittsburgh -5 over NY Jets- Darrelle Revis is the Jets’ best player by a lot. New York won’t cover the Steeler receivers as well and won’t get as much pressure on Ben Roethlisberger. Playing in Pittsburgh won’t suit Mark Sanchez overly well.

Dallas -3 over Seattle- The new secondary for the Cowboys allows Dallas to pressure Russell Wilson better. If Tony Romo can limit his mistakes, the Cowboys will get a tough road win.

Washington -3 over St. Louis- Robert Griffin III will have to deal with an underrated Rams corner combo of Cortland Finnegan and Janoris Jenkins, but the Redskins defense will do enough to earn RG3 another road win.

Tennessee +6 over San Diego- If not for a bad long snapper, San Diego would have lost to Oakland last week. Expect a much better effort from Chris Johnson and the return of Kenny Britt should help the Titans to the upset.

San Francisco -6.5 over Detroit- Matthew Stafford and the Lions secondary both need to play way better to be in the same stratosphere as the Niners even if Frisco plays 75 percent as well as it did last week.
