-There’s a 50/50 chance the Dodgers get Ryan Dempster from the Cubs, Jon Paul Morosi reports. The two sides are still discussing prospects. The Tigers, Nationals and Braves still have interest, Jon Heyman reports.
-Morosi also says that Detroit is not interested in Zack Greinke, who Milwaukee offered a $100 million contract but is likely to test free agency.
Noon Eastern
-Jayson Stark: The Angels and Braves are interested in Zack Greinke. *The Dodgers, Tigers, Braves and Nationals are in on Ryan Dempster. *Pittsburgh could make a run at dealing for Hunter Pence and even asked the Royals about Billy Butler.
11:20 a.m. Eastern
-The Rockies and Royals swapped disappointing pitchers Jeremy Guthrie and Jonathan Sanchez.
-Joel Sherman would not be surprised if Houston traded Francisco Cordero and Ben Francisco. The Mets could have interest in both. Brandon Lyon started his career with Toronto and he and Happ will boost a decimated pitching staff.
-The four prospects heading from Toronto and Houston are Joe Musgrove, Asher Wojciechowski, David Rollins and Carlos Perez. Musgrove, 19, is a righty pitcher who was selected in the sandwich round of the 2011 draft. Wojciechowski is a 23-year-old righty starter who’s doing pretty well in his second full season at advanced-A. Rollins is a 22-year-old lefty starter having a very good season for middle-A Lansing. Perez is a 21-year-old catcher batting .275/.358/.447 with five home runs for Lansing.
-Brian Fuentes is now a member of the Cardinals.
10:53 a.m. Eastern
-A massive 10-player trade was just completed between the Blue Jays and Astros. Toronto acquired pitchers Brandon Lyon, J.A. Happ and Dan Carpenter in exchange for Francisco Cordero, Ben Francisco, four minor leaguers and a player to be named later.
9:20 a.m. Eastern

-The Dodgers are looking for a pitcher, a hitter and a lefty reliever according to Dylan Hernandez. Talks have intensified with Ryan Dempster, but there is not interest in Phillies SS Jimmy Rollins. LA likes Chase Headley, but San Diego is asking for a lot. They’ll probably go after Cole Hamels if he becomes available. *Jon Heyman reports that the Dodgers are favored to acquire Dempster and that the two sides “are haggling over prospects.” The Nationals and Braves are also involved. *LA won’t trade top pitching prospect Zach Lee for a rental like Dempster, Ken Rosenthal reports. *Detroit has interest in Dempster, Bruce Levine reports, and the Pirates and Royals have interest in Paul Maholm.
-Pittsburgh remains involved with Justin Upton and he’s at or near the top of their list, according to Jon Paul Morosi.
-Between seven and 10 teams are interested in Chase Headley, UT San Diego reports. The Pirates, Orioles, Dodgers, Diamondbacks and Mariners are among those teams but San Diego is asking for a lot. Huston Street and Chris Denorfia are being pursued more than Carlos Quentin.
-With Brett Gardner out for the season, the Yankees do not have any interest in Juan Pierre or Rick Ankiel. Baltimore and Cincinnati would have interest in Pierre, though, according to Jon Heyman.
-Joel Sherman: The Mets could look to Kansas City and Seattle for relief help. *Huston Street will likely stay in San Diego.
-There has been little interest in Jeremy Guthrie as he struggles, Troy Renck reports. *Detroit, Texas and Pittsburgh are among the teams interested in Marco Scutaro. Boston and Atlanta have interest in closer Rafael Betancourt, but the team won’t trade Matt Belisle. The Mets and Nationals are interested in Ramon Hernandez and New York also liked reliever Matt Reynolds. Washington also liked C Will Nieves.
