MLB Hot Stove Rumors 11/15/11

9:10 a.m. Eastern
-Jose Reyes is thinking long and hard about the Marlins because of the climate, playing for Ozzie Guillen and Miami’s new retractable roof stadium, says Ken Rosenthal. One problem could be Hanley Ramirez not wanting to switch from SS. The team also made offers to Albert Pujols, Ryan Madson and Mark Buehrle. Miami’s reported first offer to Reyes was six years and $90 million and people around baseball think the team’s offers to players won’t be competitive enough.
-More Rosenthal: Both the Rangers and Angels are interested in C.J. Wilson and Roy Oswalt as Yu Darvish may stay in Japan. Washington met with the agents for Wilson and Oswalt and reportedly like Oswalt more. *Heath Bell could benefit if team’s no longer have to give up draft picks for Type A free agents while San Diego has made Jason Bartlett and Orlando Hudson available. *Japanese SS Hiroyuki Nakajima will be posted and the Giants could have interest. The Mets, Brewers, Pirates and Astros could also use help at short. *The Rockies, Tigers and Blue Jays are interested in Rafael Furcal as a 2B, but he wants to remain a SS.
-More Rosenthal: The Rays would make sense for David Ortiz, but the Red Sox and Blue Jays are his top suitors. *The Giants aren’t out on Carlos Beltran just yet. *The Angels could bid for Albert Pujols or Prince Fielder. *Boston will interview Dale Sveum on Wednesday for its managerial job.
-Jim Bowden: Colorado is looking for a righty five or six hitter, a 2B to hit second and a 3B. *Arizona wants an experienced starter, they’re in on Roy Oswalt, and a situational lefty. *Pittsburgh’s priorities order from SS, to pitching, to bats. *The Cubs priority order is pitching, defense and lefty bats. *Kansas City is looking for starting pitchers, Detroit for a 2B or 3B, Twins are looking for a SS, Seattle is looking for hitters and Oakland wants OF help. *Boston has touched base with Michael Cuddyer and Carlos Beltran and want back of the rotation help. *Milwaukee wants versatile IF’s and bullpen help. *San Diego wants 8th and 9th inning relievers while it realizes Heath Bell won’t be back. *Washington is going after Roy Oswalt, Mark Buehrle, C.J. Wilson, Wandy Rodriguez, B.J. Upton and Denard Span.
-Danny Knobler: The Angels are among eight or nine teams interested in C.J. Wilson. *Dale Sveum is the front-runner to land the Boston GM job and Mike Maddux, Sandy Alomar Jr., Pete Mackanin and DeMarlo Hale are Cubs candidates. The Cubs are in a decision making phase and Boston wants a manager by Thanksgiving, says GM Ben Cherington. *Detroit believes it can find help via trade.
-The Marlins, Brewers, Tigers and Phillies have interest in Jose Reyes but it will take him time for him to sign.
-The Rangers, Cubs, Giants and Yankees are among the teams interested in Grady Sizemore, says Jerry Crasnick. The Cubs are going to the Dominican to see Yoenis Cespedes this week.
-Colorado has interest in Martin Prado, and Atlanta wants Seth Smith and a CF. The Rockies have been reluctant to trade one of  Charlie Blackmon, Tim Wheeler and Dexter Fowler, says Troy Renck. The Tigers also have interest in Prado.
-Gio Gonzalez and Andrew Bailey could be dealt this offseason, says Susan Slusser. It could take a Dan Haren like deal to get Gonzalez, though. The A’s may not be interested in either Grady Sizemore or Yoenis Cespedes.
-Rafael Furcal and Yuniesky Betancourt are on the list of SS’s being looked at by Milwaukee. No offer will be made to Prince Fielder this week, but middle infielders and late inning relievers are priorities right now.
-The Rays are interested in a 1B, a DH and two relievers, says Joel Sherman. They want to hold on to starting pitching depth, but that could change if Joey Votto becomes available.
-Mets rumors: They are budgeting eight to 10 million to late inning relief and would like to spend that on two players. Frank Francisco and Matt Capps were examples, but just that. They could also use a defensive CF, a decent catcher and an innings eating starter. That starter won’t be Chris Capuano, who wants a two-year deal.
-Arizona has interest in Hiroki Kuroda and Mark Buehrle, says Nick Piecoro.
-The Yankees are interested in bringing back Freddy Garcia and Andruw Jones.
-Jose Molina, Gerald Laird, Matt Treanor and Ramon Castro are all backup C options for the Tigers, says JP Morosi. The Dodgers also have interest in Treanor.
