NBA Trade Rumors 2/23/11

News
-Golden State sent Brandan Wright and Dan Gadzuric to New Jersey for Troy Murphy and the Warriors’ 2nd round pick. Murphy will be bought out.
-Atlanta acquired Kirk Hinrich and Hilton Armstrong from Washington for Mike Bibby, Maurice Evans, Jordan Crawford and a first-round pick.
-New Jersey has acquired star PG Deron Williams from Utah for Devin Harris, Derrick Favors and two first-round picks to the Jazz. Those picks will be New Jersey’s first-round pick next year and Golden State’s 2012 first-rounder which is top-seven protected.
-New Orleans has acquired Carl Landry from Sacramento for Marcus Thornton and cash.

-An unhappy Raymond Felton will meet with Denver tomorrow about his future role with the team.
-Hasheem Thabeet is the most likely Memphis player who will get traded. The Grizzlies want to sign Zach Randolph to a contract extension and they’ll probably keep OJ Mayo. Kyle Korver was offered by Chicago and Anthony Morrow by New Jersey. Could Thabeet be dealt for Shane Battier?
-There are no salary matches for the Knicks and Samuel Dalembert. New York will probably pick up a center since Marcus Camby is also too expensive.
-Golden State will likely pick up Jeff Adrien from the D-League.

-Charlotte could be getting cold feet about a Gerald Wallace trade to Portland. Charlotte wants Rudy Fernandez but his agent said he’ll ask for a buyout and go back to Spain before playing for the Cats,
-If the Knicks don’t trade for a center they’ll likely sign Earl Barron.

-Golden State and New Jersey are still discussing a Troy Murphy trade.5:40 p. m. Eastern
-It seems likely that Portland will acquire Gerald Wallace by the trade deadline. Chris Broussard says talks with the Cavs for Wallace are dead and talks with Portland are serious.
4:55 p. m. Eastern
-Cleveland and Charlotte have discussed Gerald Wallace and Ken Berger and a deal with Portland could be close. Andre Miller or Joel Pryzbilla and picks could be the offer.
-A Troy Murphy deal to Golden State is close.

-New Orleans has acquired Carl Landry from Sacramento for Marcus Thornton and cash.
-Portland and Charlotte are definitely talking a Gerald Wallace trade. Marcus Camby would work but then he would probably retire. Joel Pryzbilla and picks?

-Dallas wanted Devin Harris to put in a trade for Deron Williams, Marc Stein reports. Three to five other teams made offers for Williams, says Brian Smith.

-Alan Hahn reports that all the physicals are finished and the new-look Knicks will all be in action tonight.
-Talks between Boston and Golden State have fallen apart regarding Nate Robinson and the Warriors look ready to pull the trigger on a Troy Murphy trade.

-Minnesota has interest in Raja Bell but Utah may be reluctant to trade him.

-Teams checked in with Utah on Derrick Favors but the Jazz won’t trade him.

-Jason Fleming reports that the Hawks are open to making a deal and are willing to trade Mike Bibby, Jamal Crawford, Marvin Williams and even Josh Smith.

-Teams are trying to trade for Utah starters Paul Millsap and Andrei Kirilenko, says Chad Ford.

-Let’s play catch up, shall we?
-HoopsWorld: Washington is listening to offers for Kirk Hinrich. Portland is interested in Gerald Wallace and is trying hard to work out a deal. Denver is done dealing. A Warriors’ deal for Nate Robinson fell apart. Houston also like Wallace and Stephen Jackson.
-Golden State is still deciding whether they should trade for Troy Murphy.
-Corey Brewer will likely stay with the Knicks.
-Yao Ming probably won’t be traded before the deadline.

-Charlotte tried getting Deron Williams and are being very active. They’re offering Boris Diaw in a lot of deals. Utah may not be done dealing.

-The Troy Murphy trade is not done yet that would send Murphy and a second-round pick to Golden State for Brandan Wright and Dan Gadzuric. Apparently, the Deron Williams trade came together in 24 hours.

-HoopsWorld: The Nets are looking for more deals to surround Deron Williams with talent, Portland may keep Andre Miller, Joel Pryzbilla and Marcus Camby and Detroit is not trading Tayshaun Prince.

-Marc Stein astutely points out that New Jersey is not allowed to sign Deron Williams to an extension before July 9 under league rules.

-New Jersey has acquired star PG Deron Williams from Utah in a three-team deal that sends Williams and Dan Gadzuric to the Nets, Troy Murphy to Golden State and Devin Harris, Derrick Favors and two first-round picks to the Jazz.

-Al Iannazzone reports the Nets are close to a three-team deal to acquire Deron Williams from the Jazz. New Jersey would give up Derrick Favors, Devin Harris and picks. Favors has been pulled out of practice and has been told he’s being traded to a Western team, says Adrian Wojnarowski.

-Chad Ford says the Bobcats are intent on moving Gerald Wallace by the deadline and have talked with Dallas, Houston, Indiana, Cleveland and the Clippers. Charlotte wants an expiring contract and a protected first-round pick but Cleveland is dangling their $14.5 million LeBron James trade exception.
9:10 a. m. Eastern
-Cleveland likes Semih Erden of Boston and Omer Asik of Chicago in a deal for Anthony Parker but that probably won’t happen. Leon Powe and Jamario Moon will likely be bought out.
-Expect a buyout of TJ Ford’s deal.

-New Orleans is close to acquiring a big man who could replace David West next season in Carl Landry. The Hornets would send Marcus Thornton and cash to Sacramento. The Kings want to resign Samuel Dalembert and he’ll likely stay, says Sam Amick. The Maloofs, who own the Kings, could ask for an extension of the March 1 relocation deadline so they can continue to negotiate a possible relocation from Sacramento to Anaheim.
-New Jersey and Golden State will likely complete a trade today sending Troy Murphy and a second-round pick to the Warriors for Brandan Wright and Dan Gadzuric. Murphy will be bought out and he’ll choose between Boston, Orlando and Miami. Chris Mannix says Boston and Miami are the favorites.
-Murphy could also be included in a Devin Harris trade to either Portland or Dallas. Caron Butler would be the main piece of a Mavs trade and Andre Miller in a Portland trade with Quinton Ross, Dominique Jones, Joel Pryzbilla and Greg Oden mentioned as others who could potentially be on the move. Atlanta is also interested and Portland does like Jamal Crawford but New Jersey doesn’t like Mike Bibby, the main piece of their offer.
-In need of a shooting guard, Chicago has offered a first-round pick to Houston for Courtney Lee but the Rockets want Omer Asik in any Lee offer.
-Denver has made it very clear that Nene is not available, though the Rockets were very interested. Houston has gotten a lot of calls about Lee and Shane Battier but not for anything great. Nene wants to sign a contract extension with the Nuggets. Wilson Chandler does also, but one Nugget who will get an extension is George Karl.
-Boston has spoken with Phoenix about Jared Dudley, Grant Hill and Mickael Pietrus. Possible buyout candidates include Morris Peterson, Jason Kapono, Rasaul Butler and Sasha Pavlovic.
-New York is looking to trade for a center.
