-The newest proposal for a Carmelo Anthony trade would send Wilson Chandler from New York and Corey Brewer and a first round pick from Minnesota to Denver, according to ESPN’s Chris Broussard. The Knicks would give Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry to the TimberWolves. A Minnesota source told Ric Bucher that the team would want more in return for Brewer and a first. Additional names will likely be added to make a deal possible. Expect this to drag out until deadline day. Andy Rautins’ and Kelenna Azubuike’s expiring contracts have also been discussed, says Marc Berman.
-SI’s Chris Mannix reports that a deal is not close and one executive said that this could be Denver trying to lure other teams to the table. Minnesota has no interest in trading Brewer to the Nuggets.
-Minnesota would rather trade a first round pick to the Knicks for Randolph because they have Memphis’ and Utah’s protected first rounders in June, says Jerry Zgoda. They would want more as ‘Melo facilitators. Expect Brewer to be gone by the trade deadline, though.
-Kendrick Perkins can’t see himself anywhere but Boston.
