-While the Braves improved their lineup while Florida improved their infield and bullpen, let’s see what else is going on:
-Hal Steinbrenner said talks are going well with Derek Jeter. New York is still waiting on how many years Mariano Rivera wants.
-Reds news includes Francisco Cordero being available and Jay Bruce being open to a long-term extension.
-Tampa Bay is listening to offers for SS Jason Bartlett.
-A number of veteran starters have targeted San Diego and Petco Park as placed where they could increase their values.
-Most GM’s are in favor of adding a Wild Card team in each league.
-Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Houston, Colorado and Seattle are interested in Jeff Francis.
-The first round of Mets managerial interviews are over and a new skipper should be named by Thanksgiving.

-Jerry Crasnick reports that the Dan Uggla deal to Atlanta is done. Omar Infante and Mike Dunn will head to the Marlins.
5:15 p. m. Eastern
-Multiple reports, led by Ken Rosenthal, have the Braves close to acquiring 2B Dan Uggla from Atlanta for All-Star IF Omar Infante and lefty reliever Mike Dunn.
4:55 p. m. Eastern
-Florida signed C John Buck to a three-year deal worth $18 million.
3:30 p. m. Eastern
-John Buck is close to signing a three year deal with Florida worth $15 million.
2:40 p. m. Eastern
-Congrats to Roy Halladay for a well-deserved unanimous NL Cy Young award. He got all 32 first place votes!
-From the GM Meetings: More balanced divisions have been discussed along with a 7-day DL for concussions and adding a Wild Card team in each league.
-Colorado is eating at least $3.75 million by releasing reliever Manny Corpas.
-Multiple teams are going after Cliff Lee.
-An Arizona official told Jon Heyman that they would want “everything” for Justin Upton, who is being shopped. It would take a lot for the DBacks to deal Upton and they would have to be “blown away” for Stephen Drew. The Red Sox, Braves and Angels have interest in Upton and it could take Jacoby Ellsbury and a pitcher to get him. One report said there were no legs to this Red Sox rumor.
-Baltimore is very interested in Adrian Beltre.
-Florida is very interested in John Buck and are working hard to deal Dan Uggla.
-Carlos Pena said that it’s up to the Rays to resign him.
-It’s only a so-so trade market for Jonathan Papelbon.
-The Yankees have interest in lefty reliever Pedro Feliciano.
-Seattle will likely do very little this offseason and try and sign bargains.
-The Softbank Hawks are working on signing Marcus Thames.
-Brandon Backe will pitch next season.

-Adrian Beltre has interest from 12 teams and could be the first star to go off the boards.

-St. Louis and Albert Pujols will begin contract extension talks in earnest in December. The Cards also have interest in Dan Uggla, Tsuyoshi Nishioka, Juan Uribe and Miguel Tejada.
-Ken Rosenthal rumors: The Dodgers may want to trade James Loney. St. Louis will likely keep Jake Westbrook and Colby Rasmus and could try and trade for Stephen Drew. Florida would ask Atlanta or Washington for a lot for Dan Uggla. Toronto, San Francisco and Boston also have interest and the Nats’ first priority is to resign Adam Dunn. Edgar Renteria, Manny Ramirez, Johnny Damon and Russell Branyan could be options for Toronto. The Dodgers, Diamondbacks and Angels could be options for Paul Konerko.
-Jon Heyman primes readers for a wild hot stove season.
-There are a lot of players who could be traded this offseason but Prince Fielder is reportedly not one of them.
-Florida is aggressively shopping Uggla but won’t give him away. They have interest in John Buck and Yorvit Torrealba. Detroit also likes Uggla and the Marlins have interest in AJ Pierzynski.
-Jorge de la Rosa is Pittsburgh’s top free agent target.
-Atlanta is interested in Dan Uggla and would love to get Ryan Ludwick if the Padres non-tender him. Colby Rasmus and BJ Upton are also of interest.
-It could be a slim free agent market for Manny Ramirez.
-LA brought back Hiroki Kuroda for a year and $12 million.
-Tampa Bay has to totally reconstruct its bullpen.
-Rick Peterson is among the candidates for Yankees pitching coach which includes Gil Patterson, Mike Harkey and Scott Aldred.
-Joel Sherman is a fan of the Mets’ likely approach, which is to slow down and do little. Larry Bowa likes Terry Collins as the best Mets managerial candidate. It will likely be down to Collins or Doug Melvin.
