MLB Trade Rumors 7/27/10

4:30 p.m. Eastern
-The Phillies and Dodgers are actively pursuing Roy Oswalt while the Cardinals and Rangers are interested, says Jon Heyman.
-Joel Sherman buzz: Philly may not trade Jayson Werth, the Rockies are shopping Aaron Cook, the Dodgers like Ted Lilly and the Giants are after Jose Guillen. 
-Teams are waiting to see what Washington does with Adam Dunn and Josh Willingham, but the Nats have yet to offer Dunn a contract extension. The Braves and Giants are after Willingham.
-The Yankees are one of six teams on Joakim Soria’s no-trade list. Tampa Bay is looking for a bat but Washington asked the Rays for Matt Garza in an Adam Dunn trade last week.
-The Angels aren’t going to rent a 1B bat like Derek Lee, according to Jayson Stark.
-Florida is looking for a big prospect back from Texas for Jorge Cantu. The Braves are looking for a CF but it doesn’t look like they’ll be able to get Cody Ross.
-Detroit is not pursuing Russell Branyan or Lyle Overbay, according to Jon Paul Morosi.
-The Rangers and Phillies like Christian Guzman.
-Juan Castro signed with the Dodgers. Atlanta sent Nate McLouth to AAA.
-Mets coaches are safe for now, says Jim Bowden.
1:45 p.m. Eastern
-The White Sox still want Adam Dunn but could go after a starting pitcher instead. NL West clubs have shown interest in Dunn, who the Nats would rather trade than Josh Willingham.
-Joba Chamberlain lost the Yankees’ 8th inning job but won’t be sent down to the minors. New York is also interested in Scott Downs.
-Minnesota is interested in Matt Capps.
-Michael Wuertz has Boston on his wish list but Oakland would need to be bowled over to deal him.
-Colorado continues to talk with Florida about Jorge Cantu.
-Kansas City has no real options on a Jose Guillen trade unless they lower their expectations. KC may even be done trading.
-Milwaukee is holding off on making any decisions for now. Here’s the latest on Prince Fielder.
-Atlanta resigned C David Ross to a two-year extension.

-Roy Oswalt to the Rangers is a longshot because of the finances, says Jon Heyman.
9:10 a.m. Eastern
-Texas has interest in Roy Oswalt, who will be flexible in accepting trades.
-Colorado is still interested in Jorge Cantu, but there’s a good chance they may sell, according to Ken Rosenthal. Ryan Spilborghs, Melvin Mora, Brad Hawpe, Rafael Betancourt and Joe Beimel may now be available along with either Aaron Cook or Jorge De La Rosa. The White Sox could look into Hawpe if they can’t land Adam Dunn. There are still three-team talks that would send Dunn to the White Sox and Edwin Jackson to Washington.
-Boston isn’t matching up with Toronto in a Scott Downs trade yet but the Jays are scouting class A pitcher Roman Mendes. The Yankees also have interest in Downs along with Will Ohman and they’re willing to trade Chan Ho Park, which hasn’t gotten much interest.
-Luke Scott, Jayson Werth and Josh Willingham are on Tampa Bay’s radar, though the Phillies want BJ Upton for Werth, which won’t happen.
-Florida wants to sign Dan Uggla and Ricky Nolasco to long-term deals. The Rockies, Rangers and Giants are interested in Jorge Cantu.
-The Giants, Dodgers and Padres are all interested in Scott Podsednik, and the Royals are suddenly being bombarded with offers.
