NFL Draft Digest 4/21
-With Ben Roethlisberger officially suspended, rumors spread about Pittsburgh shopping the beleaguered QB for a top 10 pick. Seattle, Oakland and Buffalo would be the most likely destination in this scenario, though Oakland could be the only likely destination. Pittsburgh already gave Byron Leftwich a contract extension. Buffalo has repeated that they have not talked to the Steeler about Big Ben.
-Speaking of the Raiders, they have just sent a 5th round pick to Jacksonville for Quentin Groves.
-Jacksonville, Denver and Miami at picks 10-12 are willing to move down and are fielding trade offers. Expect at least one of those teams to recoup some extra picks via trade.
-ESPN Radio in Dallas reports that the Cowboys would trade down from 27 if Taylor Mays is the best available player because he reminds them too much of Roy Williams. (SOS’ David Naxon from Dallas)
-Minnesota won’t be drafting a CB after signing free agent Lito Sheppard.
-Tim Kawakami wonders if the 49ers are going to take Jimmy Claussen.
