Bay Area Getting Big Boost

The Giants and Athletics are on their way to improving themselves on this Chirstmas Eve. Oakland has agreed in principle on a one year deal with ace Justin Duchscherer that could be worth $5.5 million, according to ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick.

ESPN’s Buster Olney reports that free agent OF Mark DeRosa is leaning towards a two-year offer from the Giants, which would give them a big bat and likely take them out of the Jason Bay, Johnny Damon and Jermaine Dye talks. This would further limit the options Bay has, but would put a fairly big bat in the middle of the Giants order. More as it develops down by the bay.
