Hot Stove Update 11/22

-The Rays are looking at relief help from both sides of the rubber and a catcher, says the St. Petersburg Times. The Times also reports that the White Sox and Rangers have shown interest in trading for BJ Upton and the Mets and Braves have interest in Carl Crawford.
-Baltimore is interested in free agent 1B Carlos Delgado.

-If the Mets lose out on Matt Holliday and Jason Bay, they could have a trade partner in the Royals, according to the New York Daily News. Kansas City identified the Mets as a potential suitor for RF Jose Guillen, though sources said no deal was close. Guillen is owed $12 million in 2010 and they want an inexpensive OF back like Angel Pagan. The Royals are also willing to eat some of the contract. It seems impractical for KC to keep both Guillen and Mike Jacobs next season, the article says.
-Gary Sheffield wants to play in 2010 and go for 3,000 hits, says the Boston Globe. A large number of teams could be interested. John Lackey could be a key piece for both the Red Sox or Yankees, and if Boston gets him they could package Clay Buchholz in a deal for Roy Halladay, Adrian Gonzalez or Miguel Cabrera. Boston could also have interest in Ben Sheets. Casey Kotchman and Jed Lowrie could also be trade pieces. The Yankees are “apparently” willing to give up either Joba Chamberlain or Phil Hughes in a Halladay deal but want to hold onto Austin Jackson. The Twins and Brewers are very interested in Carl Pavano. The Cardinals and Brewers like John Smoltz and the Red Sox are among the dozen teams in on Mike Gonzalez and Rafael Soriano.
