Hot Stove Update 11/21

-The Roy Halladay sweepstakes is definitely back on. Blue Jays Preisdent Paul Beeston told the New York Post that Halladay does not want to be on the team after next season. MLB.com’s Carrie Muskat reported that the Blue Jays contacted the Cubs about a trade including Chicago’s best prospects but no deal seemed likely. The Yankees, Dodgers, Phillies and Red Sox are also interested, according to MLB.com’s Jordan Bastain.
-Amid reports that the Marlins and Josh Johnson were at an impasse on a long-term contract is both sides of the story from MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro.
-Fox Sports reports that the Indians probably will not trade Kerry Wood this offseason. Teams could be scared off by his $11 million 2011 contract that kicks in if he finished 55 games in 2010. Ken Rosenthal points out in the article that he finished 50 in a forgettable 2009 season.
-Jose Contreras is reportedly looking for work in Japan, says NPB Tracker.
